Gardening is Good for You (and your health!): National Public Health Week Event in the Garden!

Good Monday Morning!

The Gamma Zeta Chapter is going to be co-sponsoring an event in the Public Health Garden during National Public Health Week.

Come join us to learn about the connections between gardening and public health, and to get active in the garden! This event is part of National Public Health Week and co-sponsored by the Public Health Garden, Delta Omega (the Public Health Honor Society), and the Maryland Council on Family Relations (MCFR). From 3:30-4:00 pm we'll hear from two Ph.D. students about their work related to the public health-gardening nexus. Then from 4:00-5:30 pm, everyone is invited to get their hands dirty in the garden helping plant, harvest, and assist with other garden tasks at hand. Join the spirit of this year's National Public Health Week theme "A Healthier America Begins Today!" and start healthy living and eating with the Public Health Garden!

Date: Monday, April 2, 2012

Time: 3:30-5:30pm

Location: Public Health Garden (between Eppley Recreation Center and the School of Public Health)

Sponsored by: Public Health Garden, Delta Omega Gamma Zeta Chapter, and the Maryland Council on Family Relations (MCFR)

It would be great to see a big Gamma Zeta Chapter showing at this event!
